Challenge #155 week of 26th January 2015

Still fighting with the scheduling aspect. And I know that this is affecting how interactive our little community is, so I need to work on that.

I recently set up my countdown for my next big adventure and ended up posting this photo to Instagram and my {15 loves} post over on my own blog in January...

And in response to that, Lynette commented that this was the second time she'd seen her lucky/significant number - 329 - within a few days.

I call that a nice little touch of destiny!

But it got me thinking about her lucky number of 329 - and it made me want to know WHY! It's not a number that comes up all that often I would imagine. I've been thinking about if I have my own lucky number and several come to mind but it's not really something I've ever thought about to any great degree for myself. I think I've settled on 27 for reasons which might become clear later.... more thought needed....

So this week, I'd like you to be inspired by lucky numbers.

Be it your own, or someone else's, there's bound to be a story behind those digits so let's work on capturing them!

It would be lovely to see your creations over at the Whimsical Musings Flickr gallery here with the tag WM#155!

And LOAD215 is coming which means I might get to make some of the WM challenges myself. Fingers crossed.

Challenge #154 week of 19th January 2015

Last week my family was anticipating a very special movie - The Paddington Movie.  You see, my son is 13 and my daughter is 8.  I'm not much of a movie goer and my husband will watch anything.  With varying ages, different interests, boy vs. girl, movie goers vs. non-movie goers, it is often difficult to find a film that suits everyone.  When we saw the previews over the summer, it prompted me to dig up my Paddington books that had been given to me as a child from my older sister.  My husband started reading them to my daughter and they quickly fell in love with the bear from darkest Peru.

We saw the movie together as a family and it was a delight for all.  It was an enchanted story filled with gorgeous scenes of London, beautiful creative effects, fun music and witty humor.    I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say that poor Paddington loses his uncle in an earthquake and only his special hat remains. The marmalade loving bear treasures this hat and puts it atop his head on his journey to London determined to find its original owner.   The hat then becomes an important element in the movie.  Ahhhh....it is such a sweet movie.

So, for this week's prompt I'd like for you to be inspired by hats.

Be sure to tag your layout WM#154 and show us what you create.

Cheers!

Lynnette

Challenge #153 week of 12th January 2015

My thoughts this time of year...

I am always inspired by "the quiet whiteness of January..."

My scrappy side wanted to translate this challenge into using
white space until I found these bird snow angels under our feeder!

Can't wait to scrap them.

WHITE inspiration might include:
marshmallows, brides, clouds, chocolate (white, of course), linens, lace, milk/ice cream,
lilies, egrets or doves, stoneware, a white sand beach, The White Album...

Check here for a few visual inspirations from Pinterest like this:

Would love to hear what comes to your mind, even if it doesn't prompt a project!

Thanks for visiting!

Challenge #152 week of 5th January 2015

And so a new year begins.

Happy 2015 everyone!

Welcome back for another week of inspiration and I hope I've got something here to get your fingers itching to reach for a pen, some pretty paper and the paper trimmer.

I've been pinning a lot recently. A lot. Lots of scrap inspiration out there for example. But I have one board that melts my heart each time I open it up (see here) so let's see how it gets you.

For example, this photo makes me long for such a face in my life...

Pinterest pin here but original source unknown

Or how about this box of delight?

Original pin found here

And in case you are wondering if you should be inspired by adorable (for me!) boxers, let me offer you this as a hint...

Yes! This week, let's be inspired by puppy love.

Take it as real puppies your family had when you were a child, your childhood canine partner in crime, your first "Puppy Love" or even your relationship with the Osmonds! Yes, I was in love with Donny way back when and this song used to turn my childhood legs to jelly :-)

We'd love you to share your creations with us over at the Whimsical Musings Flickr gallery here with the tag WM#152.
